Karen Petrasko

Karen Petrasko is the official illustrator for Pat Nelson Childs' Firma novels, including The Chronicles of Firma and the upcoming follow-up series, The Heirs of Firma. Working from her studio in beautiful Seattle, Washington she runs her own creative service business providing illustrations for a variety of projects and clients. She specializes in whimsical, magical imagery for print and digital media including picture books, novel covers, and casual games. The majority of her work is created digitally in Photoshop, Painter, and Illustrator while utilizing her background knowledge of life drawing and painting.

Since graduating Summa Cum Laude with a BFA from Columbus College of Art and Design, her work has been featured in many sources in the U.S. and beyond. In the past, she has provided illustration and design for Amaranth Games, The Weekly Dig, Hemispheres magazine, Ad-Hoc Productions, The Ohio Farm Bureau, The Central Ohio Writers of Literature for Children, and more.
